The Sky is Falling!

I went to work yesterday in the mindset of running a typical 8 hour blood run. However, upon arrival, I found that this would not be the case. I went to put my lunch in the break room and was greeted with "what did you have to go and make such a big mess for?" "Don't you ever clean that lab?" etc. I had no idea what was going on. I headed to the lab and on the way found my desk, the garbages, and the chairs all covered in goopified plaster with the occasional soaking wet pile of papers strewn along the way. There had been a water leak in one of the pipes from the water heater upstairs above my lab. It had soaked through the ceiling tiles and created a waterfall in my lab. Some of my co-workers had heard a crash around 7 in the morning and they went to check it out. The ceiling had caved in and there was water pouring from the ceiling into the top of my computer monitor- it sizzled and died. Shocker huh? So, I spent the day cleaning up the lab, drying papers and handbooks and bleaching everything in sight or out of sight. The place smelled like a mixture of mildew and rotting plaster and/or wood. Gross! Monday, monday. . .
