Ryan and I took a trip with two of my best friends and their husbands over the weekend down to St. George. It was lovely to see blue sky again and realize there is another color than gray still out there and that the sun still gives off heat. We didn't even have to wear jackets for part of the weekend.
We stayed in a condo where we could gather, cook, eat, play games and enjoy the company of good friends. Here we all are standing outside of it. It ended up being in the perfect location as well. It was about 3 blocks from the temple and right in downtown.
We spent almost all day Saturday in Zion's National Park. Mindy had never been there and so it was a must do. I had never been there during the off season. We were actually able to drive through the whole park. We did most of the shorter hikes. We weren't quite up for the challenge of Angel's Landing this time around.
We had a bit of an adventure going up to the Emerald Pools. There was a portion (a fairly long portion) of the trail that was exceedingly muddy. We heard another visitor exclaim that it was "apocalyptic mud." Here are the photos to prove it.
We were all sporting varying degrees and colors of red by the time we got through it all.
